Dragon’s Den is a much loved, entertaining business challenge where entrepreneurs are looking for financial investment in their latest start up.
The Tenner Tycoon event intended to replicate this concept and the students of Stoke Poges Campus worked together in groups to develop a business idea that could be taken in front of a panel of judges and considered ‘Best Idea’ or ‘Best Presentation’.
The outcome of this event was that that students brought forward a range of ‎excellent ideas ranging from Local Meat Produce, to Car Cleaning Supplies. What really impressed the judges was the professionalism shown in the presentation, business planning & persuasion in view of taking the idea to the next stage.
The judges threw a variety of questions, observations and sometime quite cruel statements at the students at which they replied competently and with promising signs of rejection handling.
Overall what we saw in the students was a fresh shoot of entrepreneurship that today’s businesses are looking for. Millennials do really have something to offer!
